9. Kida - Atlantis: The Lost Empire
Kidagakash Nedakh, or Kida, if you're in a rush, is the Atlantean princess that steals Milo Thatch's heart.
As a child, she witnessed the near destruction of the city, and has spent her life being protected by her father, King Kashekim, as she struggles to remember the events which led to the loss of her mother.
During the events of Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Kida is approximately 8,500 years old, but has lost none of her incredible martial arts skills for her advancing years.
Kida is the sort of female character that all children should see represented in film. She's highly intelligent, she's a brilliant fighter, and she's fiercely loyal to her people. She also bonds to the Heart of Atlantis to become an all-powerful god-like being that saves the city from Rourke and his goons.
Kida is the reason that Atlantis: The Lost Empire was such an outstanding cinematic adventure. She added a touch of mystery and dignity to proceedings, and did so at an age that would have seen most of us long turned to dust.
