15 Biggest Guilty Pleasure Movies Of 2018
4. Den Of Thieves
At once an ambitious directorial debut for London Has Fallen writer Christian Gudegast and a totally shameless rip-off of Michael Mann's Heat, Den of Thieves take a well-worn formula and renders it enormously entertaining thanks to a strong ensemble cast and solidly helmed action sequences.
It's wildly overlong, crammed full of crummy soap opera subplots and is more testosterone-fuelled than your average episode of WWE Raw, but it's also too well-made to be dismissed entirely.
Plus, it features a scene where 50 Cent teams up with his felonious pals to intimidate his daughter's petrified prom date, and it's hysterical.
"Best" Moment: If Hunter Killer saw Gerard Butler give an oddly restrained performance, he fully leans into the hamminess here, chewing the scenery for the cheap seats in every single one of the movie's 140 minutes.
But that's not the only thing he chews. Butler sets the tone wonderfully early on when he enters a crime scene and immediately starts snacking on a donut he finds discarded on the floor. Lovely.
