15 Biggest MonsterVerse Mistakes (So Far)
9. Godzilla Vs. Kong - The Terrible Dialogue
This has never exactly been an amazing franchise for dialogue, but the other three films had largely OK, occasionally excellent dialogue; in contrast, Godzilla Vs. Kong's dialogue was noticeably off-kilter.
Godzilla Vs. Kong had a rock-solid story-line and typically strong world-building, but it was harder to appreciate all that given how lacklustre much of the dialogue was.
The dialogue was generally either flat exposition or goofy, ineffective attempts at comedy that fell completely flat every single time. Many of the film's worst lines were spoken by Bryan Tyree Henry's character, who was a thoroughly tiresome comic-relief sidekick.
It's not exaggeration to say that the film would've benefitted from a complete overhaul in the dialogue department.
