Dr Kirk Langstrom is the world's leading expert in chiropterology, which is the study of bats. After he started losing his hearing, Langstrom injected himself with a serum made from bat DNA to cure his deafness. His experiment worked but it had a mild side effect that caused him to transform him into a winged, bloodsucking monster called the Man-Bat.

Because James Gunn described Man-Bat as 'one of my very very favourite villains since childhood, it's no surprise he pushed for him to make an appearance in The Suicide Squad. But in an Q&A with Buzzfeed, he admitted that he had the vampiric creature replaced with another terrifying creature, King Shark.

Even though Task Force X is mainly composed of irredeemable scumbags, including Langstrom would have been a nice change since he's a man with a good heart... well... when he's not sucking people's necks.
