11. Roger Moore Was Too Damn Old Before He Even Started

By the time his first Bond film, Live and Let Die, was even released, Roger Moore was already batting in at 46 years old, the same age that Daniel Craig is now as he prepares to shoot his fourth film in the role. From the very start, Moore looks too old for the part, creating a Bond who lacked the youthful sexiness and physical prowess that made Connery so popular, yet in his defense, his more cautious, silly Bond did still prove a huge hit with audiences. The age factor is compounded heavily by the fact that Moore held onto the role for a whopping seven movies, and by the time his final film came out, 1985's A View to a Kill, watching a 58-year-old Moore cavort around with women young enough to be his granddaughter was just pretty icky. Moore himself has admirably not shied away from the fact, and in retrospect admitted, "I was only about four hundred years too old for the part". Still, even with 46-year-old men looking healthier and younger than ever today, it's highly unlikely the producers would ever again hire someone that old for their first outing as Bond, especially in the age of instant Internet backlash.
