14. The Avengers Will Probably Never Be Topped

Even though expectations were already high prior to The Avengers hitting cinemas in 2012, it's safe to say that Joss Whedon completely outdid himself, delivering what remains easily the best of the 10 MCU films to date, one that, it's entirely possible, can never really be topped. The key problem is that The Avengers was the first time audiences had seen this band of characters together, and so the experience was as fresh and exciting as it's ever likely to get, no matter how many new characters might be thrown into the mix in future films. What Can Be Done About It?: In honesty, not a lot: there's a good chance that Age of Ultron will be a great movie that just falls slightly short of the originality of the first film, yet at the same time, the prospect of The Avengers 3 having Tony Stark and co. teaming with the Guardians of the Galaxy to take down Thanos has an insane amount of potential to be a riveting end-game for the whole outing (at least until Phase Four is inevitably confirmed).
