15 Crazy Facts You Just Have To Accept To Enjoy Batman Movies

8. Val Kilmer Was A Great Batman Stuck In A Terrible Movie

I'm calling it: Val Kilmer was, despite the awfulness of the film he found himself contained within when Joel Schumacher took the reigns from Tim Burton, a good Batman. Great, even. It just so happened that the movie itself sucked, whilst Kilmer's oily-haired Bruce Wayne, complete with wire-rimmed specs, was commendable.

Knowing this - that Kilmer's sensitive turn as Bruce Wayne was actually pretty inspired - injects the otherwise tragic Batman Forever with its only interesting element, even if Kilmer was forced to spew out all those terrible one-liners.

Had he been in a Nolan Batman flick, however, it might've been a whole different story. Kilmer was certainly onto something here, and it's a damn shame he didn't have the right filmmaker at his disposal in order to take it all the way.
