15 Depraved Movies That Are Incredibly Difficult To Watch

4. Visitor Q

Japanese shock maestro Takashi Miike departed from Pasolini's Salo and instead took the Italian director's lesser known Teorema as a model for his film Visitor Q, in which a mysterious guest arrives at a household and begins to seduce its occupants. Shot with a documentary feel on digital cameras which look considerably dated by today's standards, perhaps the most surprising aspect of Visitor Q is the undercurrent of pitch black comedy amidst the scenes of incest and sexual abuse. This is Miike after all - few directors can mine admittedly uncomfortable laughs from such bizarre subject matter. Miike is taking clear aim at the sanctity of the family unit with Visitor Q (just as Pasolini did with Teorama) and while his aim is off the mark as much as it hits his targets, it's hard not to admire his dedication to being as subversive as possible.
