13. Wall-E Forgets EVE (Until She Holds His Hand) - Wall-E

The creative minds of Pixar clearly have a real thing for the horror of being forgotten: it's a big part of the heart of Toy Story, as well as Inside Out, Coco and The Incredibles in different ways, and it plays a major role in the most devastating part of Wall-E.

After the finale where the little robot saves the day by getting the plant into the ship's over-riding Holo-Detector chamber, he's almost lost when AUTO crushes him. That's sad enough (more of which soon), but the second part of the emotional one-two comes immediately after when EVE fixes and revives him only to find that he has been reset.

Watching him collect trash as EVE panics sadly is extremely sad, but then seeing her awaken his memory by holding his hand changes the tears to ones of joy
