The Worst Musical Score Razzie field only existed from 1981-1985, after which voters seemingly realised just how few movie scores are bad enough you even pay attention to them.

Plus, voters clearly just nominated movies they didn't like for the sake of it, hence why the score for John Carpenter's legendary sci-fi horror The Thing (which was widely maligned upon release) landed a nomination.

Aside from the fact that the pulsing synth score is one of the movie's best and most recognisable elements, the music was created by legendary composer and recent Oscar winner Ennio Morricone, making the nomination even more embarrassing.
