5. Sophie Turner's Atrocious American Accent - X-Men: Apocalypse

The writing was on the wall for this one as soon as the first X-Men: Apocalypse trailer dropped: Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner can't do an American accent to save her life, and throughout the movie her performance as young Jean Grey proved a frequent distraction.

Why It's Dumb: Because it honestly just makes it seem like Fox cynically cast a star from one of the world's most popular TV shows in the movie regardless of whether she actually had the chops to pull it off.

Her enunciation is all over the place with an over-affected American accent that often simply slips back into her English tongue. It's terrible, and embarrassing given the surely hundreds of popular young actresses who would've been better-suited to the part.
