15 Early Predictions For 2019 Oscars

1. Best Picture: Widows

Steve McQueen 12 Years A Slave
Fox Searchlight

While it's incredibly difficult to settle on a convincing Best Picture winner at this stage, we're going with Widows, the latest drama from Oscar-winning director Steve McQueen (12 Years A Slave).

The heist thriller, which boasts an incredible cast including Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Colin Farrell, Daniel Kaluuya, Liam Neeson, Robert Duvall, Carrie Coon, Jacki Weaver, Jon Bernthal and many more, is likely to be a major toast of the upcoming awards season.

McQueen, with his unconventionally patient direction, should be able to deliver a thriller of a very different breed, and considering he's already directed a Best Picture winner, why not another?

What are your early predictions for next year's Oscars? Shout them out in the comments!
