6. American Hustle - "Daddy's a sick son of a b***h"
Not going to lie, I was tempted to pick the hair as the best thing about this trailer. But that would be the biggest lie of them all. David O. Russell has always had a way with words, and American Hustle looks to be no different, even when it consists of small children repeating obscenities regarding their parents. The controversial director, no stranger to spats with his casts yet always managing to leave them craving for more, has assembled yet another ultra-talented ensemble, including Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence, who are ready to read and improvise through a story about a group of sleazy con artists during the late 1970's and early 1980's. The first trailer released, despite possessing a lot of quality, doesn't flaunt much dialogue. If you want to see the black comedy that is heading our way, then the second trailer is for you, accompanied by Johnny Mathis' brilliant track It's Not For Me to Say, this film literally radiates coolness. The Americans may have got it first, but it looks like we in the UK are given a fantastic beginning to the year of movies with a New Year's Day release. It's one way to rid of the hangover.
