15 Fantastically Offensive Movie Characters

5. Walter Sobchak (The Big Lebowski)

photo_20804_wide_large Recently I've developed an unhealthy obsession with watching John Goodman films. On the list was the Cohen Brothers' Slacker Comedy, The Big Lebowski. It stars Jeff Bridges as The Dude and Goodman as trigger-happy Veteran Walter Sobchack. In my opinion, Goodman steals the show in every one of his scenes. His obnoxious nature - the 'I'm always right because I served in 'Nam' attitude and his downright disdain of Steve Buscemi are hilarious every time. However, if he were my friend? Unbearable. He refuses to accept responsibility and is happy to pass on the blame. He's the kind of guy that would get you embroiled in a fight on Saturday night down the pub, for shooting off his loud mouth and dragging you in with him. I don't know how Bridges sticks with him! And to demonstrate my point... [shouted repeatedly while smashing the car of a fifteen year old boy, with a crow bar] "This is what happens when you f*ck a stranger in the ass!" - Hilarious!
