6. Begbie (Trainspotting)

Francis Begbie's influential role as antagonist in Trainspotting, comes from his violent and uncontrollable outbursts. He's considered by many to be one of cinema's most out and out alpha-male stereotypes (whilst alternatively, Carlyle himself reckons he's placed firmly in the closest) and as such, we come to understand the reasons behind his arbitrary acts of random and blood fueled violence! His unpredictable nature finds himself difficult to remain a friend of, and his intolerance of the minority constantly sees him having to prove his worth. To deflect the attention for him perhaps? Boyle, Irving and Carlyle have said that Begbie's sexuality is questionable! Still, regardless of his motives, Trainspotting finds itself having to deal with a loud mouthed, violent racist that, for anyone, would become insufferable after twenty minutes in his presence.
And to demonstrate my point... "CAUSE I F***ING TOLD YOU TO BRING THEM, YOU DOSS C*NT!" - And that isn't even the worst quote I could have chosen.
