12. Veruca Salt (Willie Wonka & the Chocolate Factory)
Even her name is offensive - Miss Salt is hands-down one of the biggest brats in cinema and literature history. Spoiled rotten and ethically undeserving of her golden ticket, the aptly named Veruca is taught a lesson in 'wanting' as she is unremorsefully dropped down a garbage chute to be incinerated. Good riddance! However, she's not disposed of before she gets the chance to mouth off at just about everyone she comes into contact with. Be it the mild-mannered Wonka (played superbly by Gene Wilder - for all the young Internet users among us, yes - he is the face behind the 'Condescending Wonka Meme') or the charming and gallant Grandpa Joe - she really shows herself as the most distasteful of children!
And to demonstrate my point... "I want the world. I want the whole world. I want to lock it all up in my pocket. It's my bar of chocolate. Give it to me now."
