15 Films That Only Needed One Scene To Become Legendary
1. Chainsaw Massacre - Braindead (1992)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RC1d7dw24GgThe Movie: Braindead (aka Dead/Alive) is director Peter Jackson at his most frenzied and demented. The film follows Lionel (Timothy Balme), a Mama’s boy who has the unwanted honor of having to look after his overbearingly evil mother. He also falls in love with a local girl and in a moment of intentional sabotage of one of their dates, his mother is bitten by a mysterious creature that ends up zombifying her and ultimately causing a epidemic.
The Legendary Scene: The build-up of zombies eventually leads to a huge showdown in Lionel’s house after a party, in what is perhaps the bloodiest scene in the history of cinema (in terms of pure liquid blood used). While the fight takes up around fifteen minutes of screen time, the goriest part really starts when Lionel brings a lawn mower inside the house in order to more efficiently trim down the zombie population.
The whole sequence is absolutely hilarious, not only because of the orgy of bad taste (also the title of the director’s previous film), but because the bloodbath is accompanied by a fairly undemanding piece of music, leading this slaughter to the point of complete absurdity - and true unforgetfulness.
