15 Films That Took Major Strides In Animation
6. Fantastic Mr. Fox And Isle Of Dogs.
Director Wes Anderson wonderfully captured the awe in Roald Dahl's Fantastic Mr. Fox novel by shipping this idyllic stop-motion into theatres.
Unlike many before it, this film had the interesting dilemma of having to deal with fur between takes. Somewhat inevitably, it was unavoidable to have the hair not move when changing the characters into their next position. However this issue had brought its negatives and positives, since when watching the passing of each frame it might've appeared jolting or grant the piece with a certain dynamism.
After the film, it fair to say it was the latter, and made it as iconic as the children's book it was based on.
Although this film isn't nearly as influential without mentioning its later brother Isle Of Dogs, which upped the ante by having entirely furry coated creatures which had their hair sag and also wave in the wind.
