15 Funniest Comedies Of The Last Decade
13. The Nice Guys (2016)
If you managed to watch Shane Black's absolutely terrific movie, Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang, then The Nice Guys might feel quite familiar. They're both similar in tone and plot, but it feels like more of a natural progression, rather than a carbon copy of his earlier work.
Starring Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe as a private investigator and muscle-for-hire, the duo are forced to work with each other when their individual cases intertwine. Of course, this is a Shane Black movie, so this leads to plenty of over-the-top shootouts, wild twists and turns and witty back-and-forth between the characters.
The film definitely has some dark moments, specifically with Gosling's character. However, this is more 48 Hours in tone than L.A Confidential. Gosling and Crowe have an incredible chemistry together, throwing the sort of hilarious one-liners and quips at each other that will have you chuckling throughout the movie.
Alongside some amazing visuals, a great soundtrack and a solid supporting cast, The Nice Guys is an underrated comedy gem from the 2010s.
