13. Keanu - Drug Trip
The first cinematic team-up from Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key was a bit of a let-down, if only compared to their ground-breaking sketch show, Key & Peele. However, the movie does have a few bright spots, and this scene is definitely one of them.
After accidentally taking some drugs, the mild-mannered Clarence (Key) begins hallucinating. He first finds himself transported into the music video for his favorite song, "Faith" and he gets to dance around with his idol, George Michael (RIP). But the real kicker comes when the titular cat, Keanu, shows up and begins talking to him. And if that weren't weird enough, he's voiced by Keanu Reeves.
The whole sequence is so "out there" with one great reveal after another. The "Faith" build-up where we see glimpses of the leather jacket and the torn jeans is great as we slowly realize what's happening. Then the Keanu cameo is just wonderful. It's so unexpected but completely obvious if you think about it and the added touch of The Matrix music playing in the background is icing on the cake.
