15 Great Horror Movies (Nobody Ever Talks About)
7. Bone Tomahawk
Another western horror hybrid, this slow burn flick from
Dragged Across Concrete director/ questionable politics purveyor Craig S Zahler
goes to some truly dark places late in its long runtime.
For much of its lengthy run, this tense thriller is an effective showcase for aging star Kurt Russell, underrated Lost leading man Matthew Fox, and The Conjuring’s Patrick Wilson as a set of cowboys searching for hostages taken from their small sleepy town.
Then things take a turn for the truly horrific in a closing sequence which is as unforgettably gory as it is gleefully over-the-top and unrealistic—turn off your brain and enjoy the horror western mash-up you’ve always wanted to see.
