15 Great Movies Starring Star Trek Actors

1. Judgment At Nuremberg - William Shatner (James T. Kirk)

Long before he took control of the Enterprise, the Montreal-born star was a jobbing young actor with appearances in Alfred Hitchcock Presents and The Twilight Zone to his name - but his turn as part of the acclaimed ensemble in Stanley Kramer's historical courtroom drama arguably helped elevate his stock and stands as one of his finest films to date.

Though his role is small compared to the raft of then-bigger names with whom he shared the screen - Spencer Tracy, Burt Lancaster and Judy Garland to name just a few - Shatner made a small but notable impression in the drama charting the trial of several German officials for crimes against humanity committed during the Second World War.

He played the part of a US Army captain sent to assist in the case. The drama was a major critical smash and remains among the most acclaimed of its genre sixty years on.
