15 Great Movies Starring Star Trek Actors

13. Invasion Of The Body Snatchers - Leonard Nimoy (Spock)

Logan Sir Patrick Stewart
United Artists

The late actor will likely always be fondly remembered as the influential Vulcan, immortalised in pop culture through his performances on the small and big screens - but for genre purists of a different kind, his turn in one of the classic sci-fi/horror films of all time remains another glittering jewel in his career.

Philip Kaufman's version of the 1956 original, headlined by Donald Sutherland and featuring a then-relatively unknown Jeff Goldblum, is considered one of the great remakes in the cinematic canon and Nimoy leaves a lasting impression as psychiatrist David Kibner and both his replacement.

Though it may be more fondly remembered for its twist ending than anything else these days, it's a golden slice of uneasy terror more than worth a look.

Something of a culture vulture, Mr Steel can historically be found in three places; the local cinema, the local stadium or the local chip shop. He is an avowed fan of franchise films, amateur cricket and power-chords.
