15 Greatest Dying Words Of Iconic Movie Characters

6. Dr. Strangelove - Dr. Strangelove

Dr StrangeloveColumbia PicturesThe Line: "Mein Führer! I can walk!" How He Dies: All Hell breaks loose at the end of Stanley Kubrick's outrageous war satire, with Major Kong detonating a nuclear bomb which in turn triggers the Soviet's Doomsday Device. In the War Room, Dr. Strangelove (Peter Sellers) begins discussing the idea of an underground breeding program to sustain the nation's population as nuclear fallout ravages the country above ground. He announces that he has a plan, as he suddenly stands from his wheelchair and excitedly exclaims that he can walk. And with that, Kubrick cuts to all-out nuclear war decimating the surface of the Earth set to Vera Lynn's We'll Meet Again. Though there's no concrete evidence that Strangelove and the rest of the War Room are killed by the explosions themselves, it's nevertheless extremely unlikely that their plan for self-preservation would actually work, especially considering how inept Strangelove and the rest of the room are shown to be throughout the film. Strangelove's final words leave audiences in suspense over what his master plan might have been, and injects the film with one final boost of hilarious absurdity courtesy of Sellers.
