15 Greatest Fictional Bands Of All Time

10. Soggy Bottom Boys (from O Brother, Where Art Thou?)

Rock Star Mark Wahlberg
Buena Vista Pictures

With a gaggle of famous folk musicians turning in the actual compositions for the film's wayward chain gang-turned-slapdash band, the Soggy Bottom Boys ended up becoming a slight pop culture phenomenon at the turn of the millennium.

What's perhaps most impressive about the Boys is that the Coen Brothers introduced the idea of the band as little more than a ruse to assist our escaped convicts from getting tossed back into jail, but it still managed to be one of the highlights of the film.

Even if old-timey folk isn't quite your cup of tea, it's hard not to get caught up in the sheer jubilance of their music and the goofy dancing of their lip-synching leader, George Clooney.

Best Song: "I Am A Man of Constant Sorrow"

This traditional folk tune from the early 1900s may have garnered some popularity when Bob Dylan recorded a version of it, but it really took off when this movie was released, earning a Grammy in the process.
