6. Spider-Man Versus The Goblin - Spider-Man (2002)
A superhero film is nothing without a good climactic battle, something the Spider-Man films usually deliver on. While later films have the tragic self-sacrifice of Doctor Octopus or Spidey's efforts to stop Lizard from infecting the city, the original Spider-Man has perhaps the best scene due to some taught, tight action and the tremendous repercussions it has on the rest of the trilogy. Spider-Man and the Green Goblin are battling it out to the death inside a crumbling old building, and the Goblin is beating Spidey to a pulp - until he says that he is going to hurt Mary Jane. Spurred on, Peter turns the table on his nemesis, who he finds out is his best friend's father, Norman Osborn. Soon after, the Goblin is accidentally impaled with his own glider (sound familiar?). A fantastic fight, it really showcases the sterling performance of Willem Dafoe as Norman/the Goblin as he goes from menacing to pathetic to vindictive in all of five minutes. What's more, with the Goblin's final words 'don't tell Harry,' he unwittingly condemns his son to years of vengeance and hatred, before Harry himself hops on the glider to become the New Goblin. Though, given how utterly insane Norman is, he would probably be very proud. 'That's my little Goblin Junior, etc.' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfSz0bQzZuM
