13. Swingers Cocktails first, questions later
An oft overlooked tagline from Doug Limans much loved indie comedy which emphasises the predominate thought process of Vince Vaughans motor mouthed character, Trent. Swingers tapped into the revival of all things swing and the lounge lizard style is captured well by this typically laid back line. It was the movie which set Vaughan and to a lesser extent Jon Favreau on the path to superstardom and went on to become one of the iconic indie movie of the 90's. The central characters trawl the local bars looking for 'beautiful babies' as they pass the time between acting jobs by getting drunk and generally having a good time. Trent spends a good portion of the film trying to cheer his beleaguered buddy Mike up after his painful breakup. As this tagline suggests, this process mainly involves boozy trips out on the town and a road trip to Vegas. Sometimes, everybody needs a friend like Trent, "cocktails first, questions later".
