5. The Founders Of Hogwarts

With the Harry Potter franchise, we have seen little more than the blink of an eye in terms of the history of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The castle, and the school itself, is centuries old, and could tell literally limitless stories about the pupils and professors that have called it home over the years.

Possibly the greatest of which would be the founding of the school itself. Godric Gryffindor, Salazar Slytherin, Helga Hufflepuff, and Rowena Ravenclaw came together to establish the school, each forming a different House with their own name, and beginning the rivalries that would still be fierce hundreds of years later.

The four are quite possibly the four greatest witches and wizards to have ever lived, and aside from seeing what wonderful magic this would automatically lend itself to, there would also be the dynamic between Gryffindor and Slytherin. The two began as close friends, until Slytherin's radical pure blood views drove them apart.

Wizarding movies have so far been heavily influenced by opposing duos. Of course there is Harry and Voldemort, Fantastic Beasts is gearing up for the battle between Dumbledore and Grindelwald, and Gryffindor and Slytherin could be the best of them all, as the original wizarding rivalry.
