15 Hilariously Awful SyFy Original Movies

Mega Shark Vs. Giant Octopus is the closest any of these movies came to reaching the same popularity as Sharknado. Unfortunately, the actual film isn't nearly as enjoyable, but it still has some cheesy highlights. 

The scene in question that got everyone talking was one where Mega Shark actually jumps out of the water and attacks an airplane in midair. It's completely insane, and one of the best aspects of it is how hilariously disconnected the footage inside the plane is from what's happening outside. 

In the exterior shots, there's a huge explosion and the plane is plummeting through the air, but inside it just looks like there's a bit of turbulence. There's another great moment when the Mega Shark takes a bite out of the Golden Gate Bridge like it's nothing. 

The rest of the movie isn't nearly as entertaining; it's mostly a bunch of boring dialogue and murky underwater shots. By the time the shark and the octopus do fight, you can barely even see what's happening. But is it worth watching just for the airplane scene? Absolutely.

Oh, and if you're wondering who wins, nobody does really. It's basically a draw, with each creature causing a lot of damage and then both of them dying at about the same time. Lame.
