The Original: An amusing B-movie satire about a white, ice cream-like substance discovered in the ground and marketed as "The Stuff", which with its purported lack of calories, looks to put ice cream out of business. However, The Stuff is actually a parasitic organism that eats its consumers from within. It's goofy and knows it, and the result is a whole lot of fun. Why It Needs A Remake: Though The Stuff is generally well-regarded, it hasn't aged especially well at all: the acting is a tad embarrassing and the effects are a mixed bag. The ripe satire of consumerism, though, is as potent as ever, and could be majorly ramped up with a remake. How Likely Is It?: 2/10. Marketing a film like this in an age where there isn't a huge market for this sort of goofiness could be a problem, and the original wasn't exactly a commercial smash either. It's much more probable that The Stuff will just endure as the howlingly entertaining relic that it is.
