15 Huge 2020 Movies That Have Snuck Under The Radar

3. Ghostbusters 3

No matter where you fall on the Ghostbusters remake, you can probably agree that Sony were leaving so much money on the table with never committing to a proper third film starring the original cast. For years, Dan Aykroyd kept talking in interviews about how he wanted Ghostbusters 3 to happen, throwing around a whole host of ideas and even, very occasionally, promising that scripts were in production.

Of course, a sequel was never anything more than pure chatter, and in its absence Sony attempted to cash in on the desire to see another Ghostbusters film with its all-female reboot. After that franchise failed to get off the ground, nobody expected to see it again - until Ghostbusters 3 was announced completely out of nowhere earlier this year.

The son of original director Ivan Reitman, Jason Reitman, is helming the project, but aside from a tease of the classic Ecto-1, nothing else has been revealed. No cast, no plot, and no new images. For a movie that’s coming out next July, that’s a little worrying, especially for a project of this calibre, which should be an easy home run for Sony.
