Early reviews from Cannes have been effusively positive, the film opening at a strong 92%, with ecstatic praise directed towards the two central performances in particular, as well as Kurzel's intense interpretation of The Bard's play. How Well Will It Do?: Great reviews are a given already, while Shakespeare rarely blows the roof off the box office but it'll do fine due to the low budget, and both Fassbender and Cotillard could easily end up in Oscar consideration down the line, along with crafts categories like Costume Design and Makeup & Hairstyling.
