15 Indie Horror Movies To Watch This Halloween

11. The Babysitter

The Babysitter
Netflix

Though the prospect of McG directing a horror movie for Netflix might not muster much intrigue, what a pleasant surprise it is that this comedy-horror romp is actually a ton of fun.

Stylishly shot by the director and wholly aided by its talented ensemble cast (even Bella Thorne is surprisingly good here), The Babysitter doubles down on its loony premise (a boy's babysitter plans to ritual sacrifice him) and serves up a healthy helping of over-the-top gore.

Genuinely funny and clocking in at a sensibly brief 85 minutes, this is a wild sprint of a horror film that should appeal to both the teen crowd and older horror fans (who will surely enjoy the litany of pop-culture references).
