15 Infamous Movie Plot Holes (That Actually Aren't)

9. Who Knows That Kane Said "Rosebud"? - Citizen Kane

The "Plot Hole": Citizen Kane begins with one of the most iconic scenes of all time, as Charles Foster Kane utters his dying word, "Rosebud", but with the nurse entering the room after he says it, how did anyone know that he actually said it?

Why It Actually Isn't: This is a simple case of people not paying attention to the movie, and more likely, not having even seen the movie themselves.

It's mentioned later in the film that Kane's butler Raymond was with him in his final moments, so while you can certainly argue that Orson Welles could've made it more visually apparent that Kane wasn't alone, if you're really listening to what the characters are saying, it's all there to be understood.
