15 Insanely Awesome 2018 Movie One Liners

3. "Death Is Better Than Bondage" - Black Panther

Black Panther Killmonger Death

Black Panther is without question the MCU's most politically pointed movie to date, with antagonist Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan) dropping some brutal truth bombs during his tenacious quest to overthrow the status quo.

His greatest moment, however, comes when he's fatally wounded by T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman) following their climactic battle.

T'Challa offers to save his life with Wakandan medicine, but Erik soundly rejects him with the brutal line, "Just bury me in the ocean with my ancestors that jumped from ships, 'cause they knew death was better than bondage."

Despite his extreme methods Killmonger remains one of the MCU's most empathetic antagonists to date, and this chilling line served as an unforgettable reminder of not only America's troubled history, but also the huge racial divide that still exists in the country today.
