Oscar Win: Best Original Song

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 20%

Controversial director-songwriter Joseph Brooks won an Oscar for this movie's title song, which despite being offputtingly saccharine, ended up beating out Marvin Hamlisch's far superior "Nobody Does It Better" for The Spy Who Loved Me.

The film itself was largely panned by critics as an overly melodramatic, cliched and dull romantic drama memorable only for Didi Conn's lead performance and Brooks's aforementioned award-winning tune.

Despite being "only" 40 years old, the film is largely unheard of today, so much that it's rarely even mentioned as one of the worst-received Oscar winners ever.
