Oscar Wins: Best Special Effects, Best Original Song

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 32%

Impressively scoring worse reviews than both the 1998 Eddie Murphy-starring remake and its 2001 sequel, the Rex Harrison-starring 1967 Best Picture nominee is a soul-destroying 152-minute slog.

Visually appealing on occasion but packed with naff songs and hampered by a thoroughly uninteresting plot, you'll need to be incredibly bored to actually sit through this entire thing without burying your head in your phone or rearranging your sock drawer.

No matter how next year's Robert Downey Jr.-led version turns out, there's no way it'll be this oppressively banal. 32% feels a little generous, really.
