15 Maddest Scientists In Movie History

11. The Doctor (Doctor Who)

Doctor Who Matt Smith2 Here is what I meant by stretching the definition of film. Indeed Doctor Who is and has always been a television show. However, in 1996 after years of suspension, Doctor Who found a second chance to regenerate onto television screens with a made-for-tv film serving as a backdoor pilot for a new series. Also, since it was played in some cinemas for a limited release, it is enough to take the Doctor and run with him as a candidate on this list. As if the Doctor needed any introduction to anyone reading this, the Doctor travels space and time. Through his twelve, soon-to-be thirteen, separate physical incarnations the Time Lord has displayed great knowledge in all matters of science, history, and technology. This should come as no surprise as the Doctor claims to be over 1,200 years old. He is bound to have gathered a plethora of information throughout his life. So what is he a doctor of? Well, "practically everything" as he so elegantly puts it, but it has been mentioned that the Doctor has degrees and honorary degrees in various subjects. Quirky, snarky, eccentric, odd, mad, off-the-wall. Any and all words can describe the Doctor both as and not as a scientist. In nearly every episode, some working knowledge of science be it human or alien has to be exercised by the character of the Doctor. Another character on this list that we may not find in a lab anytime soon but you can be sure that the Doctor is doing something to validate his credentials as a man of discovery and exploration.
