10. The Spice Girls Almost Appeared In Hercules

It should be widely accepted that Hercules is one of the greatest ever Disney animations, and that the musical choices involved are a big part of what makes it so glorious. It's the adoption of gospel music, as sung by the Muses that really sets the stall out early, and which was chosen by co-writer John Musker because it is a "storytelling kind of music" and could be seen as a modern (at the time) version of Greek mythology.

But it could have been an awful lot different, as The Spice Girls were originally approached to play the singing characters - who would presumably have looked like the pop stars in that version. Sadly for Spice Girl fans, they had to decline the offer because of scheduling conflicts.
