11. The Collector (Marvel Cinematic Universe)
Aside from Thanos, perhaps the most interesting villain who will appear in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie is the Collector. He is one of the Elders of the Universe and will be played by Benicio del Toro and, like his name would suggest, is a character who travels the universe collecting objects (and indeed other characters) of great power. He possesses the Power Primordial - an ancient cosmic force of nature that allows him to create virtually unlimited effects, including projecting concussive force beams, the ability to increase his own size and mass (and hence physical strength) at will, limited shape-changing abilities, precognitive abilities which give him brief visions of alternate futures and telepathic abilities that enable him to make limited contact with the minds of other Elders. It's intriguing to imagine what - or indeed who - the Collector has his eye on in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to add to his assortment of powerful trinkets.
