15 Most Controversial Films Of The Decade (So Far)

10. A Serbian Film

What's It About? Miloš, a down on his luck retired porn star struggling to make ends meet and support his wife and son, is approached by an old colleague and asked if he'd be willing to appear in a small, independent pornographic movie for an admirable sum of money. Reluctantly agreeing, Miloš soon finds himself caught up in something far more perverted than he's prepared for, with snuff, necrophilia and paedophila all playing a part in the gruesome production. Why Was It Controversial? The synopsis should tell you all you need to know about the source of controversy in A Serbian Film - Nymphomaniac and Shame might have pushed against the boundaries of good taste but A Serbian Film shatters them into thousands of pieces, and it's no surprise that this is banned in many countries around the world. Netflix removed it from their list of available material back in September 2011 - quite frankly it's astounding that A Serbian Film was ever listed there in the first place.
