Martin Freeman strikes again, this time with an altogether more serious Netflix zombie thriller.

Freeman gives arguably the strongest performance of his entire career as a father desperately trying to get his infant daughter to safety amid a world-ravaging undead apocalypse.

Shaking off the genre's cobwebs and actually contributing something fresh, Cargo serves up a healthy order of humanity alongside the gorier demands of the zombie film, with eye-wateringly good cinematography and a slew of cracking supporting turns in the bargain.

A hell of an impressive debut for directors Ben Howling and Yolanda Ramke, Cargo is a potent reminder there's still oxygen left in a genre often (justifiably) criticised for its patent lack of originality.
