15 Most Critically Adored Stephen King Adaptations

6. 1408 (2007)

Pennywise It

Rating: 78%

On paper, 1408 shouldn't have worked as a film - it's a little ghost story about a single room after all - but 2007 proved to be a successful year for King adaptations as the John Cusack-led chiller hit the sweet spot.

It was creepy, mind-bending and satisfyingly scary, and while nobody seemed clear on which ending was supposed to be used, it's something of a modern horror gem.
