15 Most Critically Adored Stephen King Adaptations
7. The Green Mile (1999)
Rating: 80%
Bucking the trend of King adaptations hiring poor directors and casting has-beens and never-will-bes, The Green Mile was a genuinely star-studded affair, which soared on the performances not only of Michael Clarke Duncan and Tom Hanks, but also Sam Rockwell, Michael Jeter and Doug Hutchison.
It's a deeply affecting film, aided magnificently by Thomas Newman's score, and it duly deserves the high score.
