15 Most Disappointing Movies Of The 2020s (So Far)

14. Being The Ricardos

Thor: Love and Thunder
Universal

Being the Ricardos tells the story of the legendary Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz during a particularly hectic week of production on I Love Lucy, it stars Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem as those two TV icons and it's written and directed by the (usually) fantastic Aaron Sorkin.

That description would suggest one of the greatest movies of 2021. Actually, it's an unbridled 'Meh'.

It's one of the better movies on this list, for the cast is fantastic (even if none of the Oscar nominations they received were deserved), Sorkin does a fine job behind the camera and the movie can be entertaining, but it's nowhere near as good as you'd expect given just how much talent was on-board.

And let's not forget, Aaron Sorkin delivered the electrifying The Trial of the Chicago Seven not too before this.

Devoid of stakes, a compelling story and most insultingly of all, any particularly memorable dialogue from Sorkin, Being the Ricardos is an empty and emotionally distant piece of Oscar-Bait that lacks any real punch, making it by far one of the weakest movies of the 2021/22 awards season.

In fact, it could actually be the worst film of Sorkin's career.
