Vin Diesel stars as Ray Garrison, a soldier who has recently been killed in action then reanimated with a nanite package that gives him incredible healing, the ability to link with technology, and even limited shapeshifting. Created by Project Rising Spirit, Bloodshot is sent out to do wet work, and kept in line by a series of fantasy scenarios and false memories. When the veil of those memories falls and he remembers himself, what will Ray do to those who shackled him?

What's most exciting about this movie is that it's a tentative toe-dip into the cinematic world for Valiant Comics, whose new owners relaunched all the comics in 2012 to rave reviews. If Bloodshot performs well, it opens the door to Harbinger and the Harbinger Wars crossover between the two.

The interesting thing about Valiant's heroes is that they're all incredibly flawed yet all do what they believe is right in the moment. This leads them into more believable conflict with each other than you see in other comic series, acting as each other's villains almost as often as they face their own.

A Valiant cinematic universe, especially one that has rumoured R-rated versions of the films in concurrent development, is something to be very excited about, and it starts March 13th.
