Tagline: A journalist stops her coverage of the 1984 U.S. Presidential election to care for her dying father and ends up becoming an arms dealer.

This upcoming British-American political thriller film is adapted from the book of the same name by Joan Didion and was picked up in September 2017 by Netflix with it was announced Mudbound's Dee Rees in the director's chair. She's assembled a great cast with Anne Hathaway and Willem Dafoe in the leads and support from Ben Affleck, Toby Jones, Rosie Perez, Edi Gathegi, Mel Rodriguez and Carlos Leal.

Hathaway plays Elena McMahon, a reporter for the Washington Post who quits her job covering the 1984 Presidential election to care for her ailing father (Dafoe) after her mother dies. He was an arms dealer for the US in Central America and she ends up taking over his role, struggling with spies, her government's military and issues caused in Costa Rica by her father's errors.
