15 Most Exciting New Movies Announced In 2019 (So Far)

1. Thor: Love And Thunder

In particularly surprising news, a fourth Thor movie was announced ahead of Comic Con, with Taika Waititi returning to take the reins once more and Chris Hemsworth involved too, of course. It would come at the cost of Akira, which has dropped back into Development Hell, but if we only get one of those movies, at least we're getting this one.

Comic Con then revealed that Natalie Portman will be back as Jane Foster and that she will wield Mjolnir as Mighty Thor, while Valkyrie will be on the hunt for her queen as the first main LGBTQ character in the franchise.

It causes some headaches for Thor's involvement in Guardians Of the Galaxy Vol 3, but more Thor from Waititi is an absolute gift that was otherwise totally unexpected, so it's swings and roundabouts.
