After reminding fans just how much of a talented film-maker he is thanks to the swagger of Baby Driver, Edgar Wright has taken his time with his next project, but revealed this year that his next project will take him back to his horror roots (as he told Empire!):

The director apparently told the British magazine that his next project will be “a straight-up psychological horror-thriller,” set in London with a female lead. He says he's looking at Don’t Look Now and Repulsion for inspiration, which should delight horror fans at least:

“I realised I had never made a film about central London – specifically Soho, somewhere I’ve spent a huge amount of time in the last 25 years. With Hot Fuzz and Shaun Of The Dead you make movies about places you’ve lived in. This movie is about the London I’ve existed in.”

It's being co-written by Penny Dreadful writer Krysty Wilson-Cairns who also worked with Sam Mendes on the script for his upcoming World War I drama 1917, so it's certainly got good pedigree.
