6. Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther (Captain America: Civil War)
Quite possibly the most underrated Marvel hero of all time, Black Panther is commonly referred to as Marvels answer to Batman, except that hes also in charge of his very own nation. While Bruce Wayne struggles to keep a vitamin D-deficient Danny Devito at bay, TChalla juggles being a leader to a technologically advanced country whilst also maintaining his heroic duties. Through his fighting skills, smarts and gadgetry, Black Panther is one of the most efficient and undoubtedly cool characters to ever grace the pages of a comic. You can probably tell that I have a lot of love for TChalla but hes not just on this list due to my biased opinion. No, it's because his role in Civil War signifies yet another progressive step forward in superhero films. Black Panther is going to be the first minority character to be given his own standalone film in the MCU. Yes, I know there has been three Blade movies but Blade is wholly American, while TChalla is an African hero from an African nation. The fact that hes going to tear Captain Americas s*** up also doesnt hurt. Boseman slayed as the iconic James Brown in Get on Up and as baseball player Jackie Robinson, with both performances highlighting his capability to morph himself and bring the drama. Additionally, he oozes class and has obvious smarts (Boseman is also a screenwriter), two important aspects necessary when bringing Black Panther to life. Black Panther is the guy who successfully put an armbar on the Silver Surfer and if anyone deserves their own Marvel movie, its him.
